Dan gebeurt echter iets onverwachts — ze krijgt een ongeluk en overlijdt, maar wordt gelukkig door paramedici geholpen en weer tot leven gebracht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dit voorval heeft er echter voor gezorgd dat ze nu stemmen hoort, visioenen ziet en vreemde dingen ervaart als gevolg hiervan. Zijn dit de symptomen die horen bij een post traumatisch stress syndroom, of krijgt ze daadwerkelijk berichten door uit het hiernamaals?<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"tlid-translation translation\"><span class=\"\" title=\"\">Garnet is er altijd trots op geweest logisch en rationeel te zijn, maar een moordenaar proberen te vangen zonder haar schaduwzelf te omarmen, wordt steeds moeilijker.<\/span> <span class=\"\" title=\"\">En gevaarlijk, want in een stad vol geheimen lijkt het alsof iedereen een motief voor moord heeft.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>The First Time I Died I didn’t come back alone<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Wat vond ik ervan?<br \/>\n<\/strong>‘The First Time I Died’ is een typische thriller die ik elke dag van de week wel kan verslinden. Zoals jullie misschien weten is het een van mijn favoriete genres om in te lezen. Het heeft echter wel zo zijn zwaktes want een thriller kan of heel slecht en saai zijn of juist weer helemaal fantastisch door de plot twists en manier van schrijven. Dit boek is zeker dat laatste..het is echt alles behalve saai.<\/p>\n<p>Het hoofdpersonage Garnet is echt een goed opgebouwd karakter. Ik werd steeds nieuwsgieriger (precies zoals zij dat ook werd in het boek) naar wat er precies met haar vriend gebeurd is en wie zijn moordenaar is. De hele opbouw van het boek met de diverse flashbacks door het verhaal heen die je meer context geven over de karakters en de setting van het hele verhaal vond ik persoonlijk ook erg fijn. Op deze manier kom je wat dichter tot de twee hoofdpersonages waar het om draait en krijg je ook meer mee over de moord die we samen met Garnet op willen lossen.<\/p>\n<p>Ik vind het altijd lastig om dit soort boeken heel precies te recenseren, maar ik kan dit boek niet anders beschrijven als een echte <em>page<\/em> <em>turner<\/em>.
